II Peter 3: 1-7
There are some people today that mock and make fun of the work of God. They say that those who believe the Bible are foolish. They say that Jesus Christ is never coming back to get His church or to rule this world for a thousand years as the Bible proclaims. The Bible is talking about this in our text today. Verse 3 and 4 say that there will be scoffers in the last days. Don’t listen to them, read the Bible, believe the Bible and trust the Lord- He is coming!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s pray for unbelievers today to get saved!
9/2/24
Psalm 24: 1-3
With all the talk of global warming or climate change, I sometimes wonder who does this world belong to. The Bible gives us the answer here. Verse 1 reminds us that the earth belongs to the Lord! The Lord made the ground, the seas and He owns everything in it! Don’t you think if the Lord made this world, He knows who to keep this world?
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, take care of this earth that you made!
9/3/24
I Corinthians 9: 19-23
I love this scripture! Paul, under the leadership of the Holy Ghost, is saying in this text I can be all things to all people so that I can share Jesus with them. Verse 22- “I am made all things to all men that I might by all means save some”. The Bible here is teaching you and I that I must be willing to talk to a person on their level so that I can lead them to Christ! If they are roofers, talk about roofs. If they are farmers, talk to them about farming! Let’s talk to people on their field!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me be all things to all people so that I can lead them to Jesus!
9/4/24
Genesis 2: 18-20
You ever wonder where the concept of marriage came from? Well, here it is in today’s text. You see, God gave Adam the task of naming all of the animals (v 14-20) but God knew that Adam needed more than the animals to make him complete. If you read verses 21-25 you will find that it was God that made marriage possible!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Let’s pray for our marriages today that they will be what the Lord wants them to be!

9/5/24
Revelation 13: 16-18
This earth is not going to be a good place to be after the church is raptured out of this world! The man of sin-the anti-christ- is going to make the people take a mark on their right hand or on their forehead. If a person does not that the mark, they cannot be a part of the society of that day (v 17). Sound familiar? Friends, make sure that we are saved! This will be a horrible time to be on this earth!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s pray for the boldness to warn people about the coming judgment of God on this world!
9/6/24
Proverbs 22: 1
Our text today is short but powerful! Do you ever think about your reputation? I mean, when a person hears our name mentioned, what comes to mind? Do they think of a good person, an honest person? Do they think of a fair person to deal with? Do they think of a loving person to be around? Our name to others is often determined by the way that we have treated others!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to live my life in a way that will glorify Jesus!
9/7/24
Acts 9: 1-9
What a testimony! Saul, who became Paul, met Jesus on Damascus Road. Paul was a wise man, a learned man of the Old Testament. But Paul was a lost man until he met Jesus on that day. What a Savior!! Jesus changed everything about him that day! His life was never the same after meeting Jesus on that road that day. Let’s spend some time thinking about how our life changed after we met Jesus!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to share my testimony with others today!
9/8/24
Zephaniah 2: 1-3
What am I seeking today? What am I looking for in my life? Think about it. Some people are seeking for more money. Some are seeking for more material things. Some are seeking someone to love or someone to love them. The Bible here tells us what we are to be seeking! Verse 3 days seek the Lord, seek righteousness, seek meekness. Sounds to me that if we seek those things it may protect us someday before the Lord!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to see the right things in my life!
9/9/24
I Corinthians 1: 26-29
This scripture is the reason, I believe, that God called me many years ago to be a minister of the Gospel. God did not call me because I was wise (v 26). God did not call me because I was noble (v 26). God called me because I was part of the foolish things of this world (v 27) ! You see, God cannot use us if we seek the glory. The glory of this world belongs to God (v 29). What a privilege to be a God called servant of God!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Thank you Lord for the privilege to serve you!!

9/10/24
Malachi 3: 8-10
In today’s text, the message is not about wanting our money! The message is about obeying God! Verse 10 talks about bringing our tithes into the storehouse. You see, God does not need our money but you and I need His blessings upon us! We cannot out give God! Therefore, give God what belongs to Him, the tithe and we have therefore obeyed God. And God will bless those that obey Him!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me obey you daily!
9/11/24
Revelation 19: 11-21
Ok, I know that today’s scripture reading is a little long, but it is good stuff! You see, on the September 11th, which I know that every American should remember as the day that our home land was attacked, I think that we should remember that there will be a battle to end all battles! Today’s text is dealing with the Battle of Armageddon. As you read the scripture today, remember there will be a final battle between good and evil and good will win! The devil will be defeated! So as we remember what happened 20 years ago today, remember the battle will happen and the Lord Jesus will win!!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s pray for the Lord to send revival to America today! And to send peace to our land!!
9/12/24
Psalm 8: 3-9
What a God we serve! I love the words in verse 3 here ”When I consider the heavens, the work of thy fingers”- that makes me want to shout! Think about what the Psalm writer is saying! God does a mighty work with just His fingers! The writer here reminds us that God has made the moon and the stars and man and angels and sheep and oxen and the beasts of the field. Not to mention the fowl of the air and the fish of the sea. What a powerful God we serve! Think about that today.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Almighty God for all that you have created!
9/13/24
John 6: 47
Alright, today’s reading is short but powerful! This is the words of our Savior Jesus Christ! The Lord tells us here that belief on Him, His birth, His death, His resurrection from the dead, shall bring everlasting life! Jesus is talking about life with Him! Think about it. This everlasting life can’t be bought, it can’t be deserved. It can only be given by Jesus Christ, the Savior of this world! No matter what you and I are facing today, this should bring a smile to our faces if we believe on Jesus!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Let’s pray for the chance to share this scripture and message with someone else!

9/14/24
Genesis 21: 1-5
In today’s text we see God keeping His promise. God had told Abraham and Sarah that they would have a son. A lot of people would say that 100 years old is pretty old to have a son. But the Bible puts it this way in verse 2 “at the set time of which God has spoken to him”. The Bible here reminds us that God will keep His word and God will do what He said he would do, but God will do it in His time, not ours! If God has made a promise in your life today, don’t worry, God will do it in His time!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, give me the strength to believe your promises will happen in your timing!
9/15/24
Hebrews 4: 12
Wow! The Bible is the most powerful book in the world! Notice the description of the word in this verse. Powerful, sharper than any two edged sword. The Bible is the only book that can know our thoughts and our hearts intent! The Bible teaches that the book is a discerner. We should study this book and we should thank God for this book every day!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s thank God for the Bible today!
9/16/24
Jonah 1: 15-17
Jonah disobeyed God. Jonah ran from the very presence of God. As part of Jonah’s punishment God had Jonah thrown into the sea off of a boat. But notice in verse 17 “the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah”. Even when the Lord has to correct one of His children, God can and will keep them safe, even in judgment. No, being in the belly of the fist was not good, but Jonah was still alive! When you and I are being punished, it does not feel good but God will prepare a way out of the judgment if we look to Him!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Help me Lord even when I am in judgment to get back to you!
9/17/24
Mark 8: 27-29
This scripture means a lot to me. In 2019 I had the privilege to stand in the very place where it is believed that this text took place and share the word of God! I love the answer that Peter gave Jesus “whom say ye that I am, thou art the Christ”. Peter did not hesitate to answer Jesus! Don’t ever think twice about telling someone who Jesus is! Be ready at all times to let others know He is the Son of God! The Savior of the world!! He is the Messiah!! He is the Christ!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s ask the Lord to always give us a boldness to tell others who Jesus is!
9/18/24
Proverbs 27: 1-2
Today’s scripture is pretty simple to understand. Verse 1 tells us not to brag about what we are going to do tomorrow, because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Then verse 2 tells us not to praise or brag on ourselves. The Bible here reminds us not to uplift ourselves before others. Our mouth should not be used to brag on self. If that is the case, what should our lips speak? Our mouth should be used to praise the Lord! Think about it, it is better to tell others about what the Lord has done for us than for you and I to brag on ourselves. Why, I mean politicians do that all the time and do we want to be like that?
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to praise you and not self!
9/19/24
Romans 1: 16-17
Never, never be ashamed to be associated with Jesus Christ! You and I should remember verse 16 here always! The Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto Salvation to everyone that believes! The greatest message that you and I could ever give to another person is the Gospel of Jesus Christ! The gospel has the power to change lives, heal the sick, put families back together, and to lead people to heaven! Never be ashamed to share it!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, give me a heart of love and a heart of boldness to share the Gospel of Jesus with others today!
9/20/24
Hosea 14: 1-5
I know that the Lord is talking to Israel here, God’s chosen people, but these words could be shared with America today! Our nation was built from the Bible, the word of God. I love verse 4. The Lord tells Israel that if they will repent and turn back to Him, He would heal their backsliding. The Lord even said that He would love them freely. America is and has been one of the most blessed nations on this planet. I believe that the Lord would bless America if we repented as a nation.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, please forgive America for our backsliding!
9/21/24
I John 4: 1-4
Today’s scripture teaches us a very important lesson. Make sure that we are listening to the spirit of God and not the devil. Verse 1 tells us to “try the spirits”. Remember this, the Holy Ghost will always point you and I to Jesus Christ! I love verse 4 here when John talks about “greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world”. John is talking about the Holy Ghost that lives in our heart after we are saved! So remember, the next time a little voice seems to be speaking to you, make sure it is of God!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to always go by your leadership only!
9/22/24
Isaiah 40: 18
Ok, today’s text is short but still powerful! Who can compare to Almighty God? Who can create something from nothing like God? Who can protect like God can? Who can discipline His children like God can? Who has the power and the might of Almighty God? The next time you feel down remember whom we serve. No one can compare to Him!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Thank you Almighty God for being who you are!

9/23/24
Acts 2: 38-41
Peter preached a short but powerful message on the day of Pentecost. My favorite verse in this text is verse 38. Today, we need more preaching on repentance from sin. More preaching on the blood of Jesus. More plain preaching on the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Notice what happens when this word is preached in verse 41. When the Gospel is preached, things will happen. Souls will get saved! Praise the Lord!!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, please allow more of the preaching of the Gospel than ever before!
9/24/24
Isaiah 9: 6-7
I know what you are thinking. It’s not Christmas time, why are you sharing this scripture? Well, I believe that we need to be reminded every now and then as to what God has done for us! God has sent the best that heaven had to be our Savior! God sent His Son to die for us and to one day rule this old world for a thousand years. See, there is nothing wrong with thinking about Christmas sometimes and what God has done for us!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s thank God for sending the best that heaven had for you and I !
9/25/24
I Thessalonians 5: 8-11
Some people believe and teach that we who are saved by the blood of the Lamb will go through some or all of the Great Tribulation days. I don’t believe that. The text today tells us in verse 9 “for God hath not appointed us to wrath” which means God’s judgment. You and I need to warn people about the judgment of God coming to this earth and about the rapture (I Thessalonians 4: 16-17) that will take God’s people first! Time is getting closer, every day.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, give us the chance today to warn people about the Great Tribulation time that is coming.
9/26/24
Genesis 6: 11-13
Every now and then you and I need to remember how that our God cannot stand sin! In today’s scripture we are reminded that many years ago “God looked upon the earth and behold it was corrupt” (verse 12). God destroyed the earth with water and only saved Noah and his family. I wonder what does God think today when He looks at the earth? Friends, I believe that things are just as bad or maybe worse than they were in Noah’s day. Oh my, how it must grieve the heart of God!!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s pray for revival!!
9/27/24
I Corinthians 1: 10-11
Paul had a direct message to the church in verse 10 “that ye all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you”. Friends, the church has a very important mission in today’s world and that is getting out the Gospel of Jesus Christ! We don’t have time for divisions or disagreements or even everybody’s opinions on our message as the church! We must be together on getting the Gospel out to a lost and dying world!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Let’s pray for the church today to be closer together and closer to the Lord as we can be! 9/28/24
Malachi 3: 6
OK, I know that we have shared this text before, but I believe that it is worth sharing again. With all the things and changes happening in our world today, it is worth remembering that the Lord does not change! I heard somebody say the other day “you can’t count on anything staying the same any more”. Yes, you can according to the Bible- God does not change!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for never changing!
9/29/24
Colossians 3: 9-11
What great advice Paul gives us today in our text! Don’t lie to each other. We need to remember to put on the new man! Remember, when we are saved we become a new creature in Christ. Sometimes we must remind ourselves to not do old things that we did before we were saved! Let’s practice good deeds or being the new man today!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to live in a way that is pleasing to you!
9/30/24
Psalm 122: 6
As we end the month of September, I thought it would be good to remember why it is so important, according to the Bible, for us to pray for America to always stand with Israel. The Bible reminds us today that we must pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The word also teaches us here that people and nations will prosper that lover her! Remember, the Lord will bless those that bless His chosen people. And God will curse those that curse His people.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Let’s pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
