EXODUS 20: 1-7
Ok, I know that today’s reading is a little long, but this is the Ten Commandments. As you read this text today, remember a couple of things. These are not ten suggestions! These are commandments from Almighty God! You see, God is not some mean, wanting to hurt people God, He is a loving God. He is a caring God. He is a God of grace. But, He is a just God! He is a jealous God. He expects His people to behave and list to Him!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to obey you daily!

MARK 6: 1-4
Jesus taught us in verse 4 in this scripture that it is hard to minister to people at home. When I first answered God’s call to preach many years ago, I remember a little lady one night after I had preached in my home church telling me at the door that she had to change my diapers in the nursery when I was a baby. Now that will humble you! Now, the Lord was not saying that we are not to minister at home, but just remember, those at home think they know us best@
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me be a strong witness for you even at home and even among them that know us best.

ECCLESIASTES 9:1
Now, today’ text is short, but powerful. The writer here of Ecclesiastes, who is really the Holy Spirit, tells us that the work of both the righteous and the wicked are in the hands of God. God has total control on this planet. It is amazing how many people in this world think that they hae power and that they are in control. In reality, Almighty God is in control! Man can only go as God will allow him to in this world.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me remember daily that you are in control of this world and my life!

LUKE 23: 44-46
I know what you may be thinking. This seems to be scripture that we share at Easter. This happens to be Christmas month. I believe that we should be reminded daily as to what Jesus did for us on that cross! Verse 46 tells us of our Saviors last words just before He died. Stop today and just thank the Lord for what He did for us on that cross!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for paying my sin debt on that cross!

I KINGS 11: 9-10
Friends, there is one thing that you and I don’t want. We don’t want or need the Lord to be angry at you or I. Solomon’s wives and concubines had drawn him into idolatry. The Lord told Solomon in verse 9 that he had turned his heart from the Lord. Breathren, it is one thing to have people upset at you and I, it’s another to have the Lord upset with us. Today, let’s do some soul searching, let’s do some self-examination. Let’s repent of anything before the Lord that would make God angry at us!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to live a life that is pleasing to you!

I THESSALONIANS 5: 16-22
The first part of this chapter deals with the time of the rapture. The chapter before, Chapter 4, tells what will happen during the rapture. Today’s text has some good advice of things to practice until the rapture. As you read this today, keep in mind that a person will never go wrong by doing what the Bible tells us to do. Here’s a thought-let’s put in our memory at least one of these verses a week. Then, let’s practice it daily! It will make a difference in our daily lives.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Help me Lord to practice your word daily!
12/7/24
GENESIS 6: 5-8
Thank God for grace! God’s unmerited favor. In other words, God giving man something that he does not deserve. God was very upset over the wickedness of man (verse 5) and was about to destroy man (verse 7), but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord (verse 8). God still wanted to give mankind a chance to survive. Let’s take the time today and thank the Lord for being so good to us!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for being better to me than I deserve!
12/8/24
REVELATION 22: 1-5
Every now and then you just have to stop and remember, for those that trust the Lord, there is a better place over the pure river of water of life. No more curse, no more death, no more night. Just a few of the things in this city that you and I should think about now and then. I don’t know about you, but I sure am glad that this old world is not my home forever!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for the place you are preparing for me!
12/9/24
PSALM 91: 11
One verse to read today, but what a powerful verse! If you and I trust the Lord, He knows how to take care of you and me. Did you notice that the Lord gives his angels charge over us? In other words, for the world or for the devil to get to you and I, they must go through God’s angels! Now, when the Lord sends an angel to keep watch over a person, that person is well protected!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for your protection and care!
12/10/24
I CORINTHIANS 3: 16-17
When a person gets saved, when a person asks Jesus into their soul and life, the Lord gives us the Spirit of God to live inside us! God allows the Holy Ghost to become the temple of God according to verse 17. That means we had better be a good dwelling place for the Spirit of God. We had better act right, talk right, go to the right places. This is a big responsibility. If we defile the temple of God, God will destroy that temple. We better live for the Lord today!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Lord, please help me to live clean!
12/11/24
JOSHUA 24: 14-16
I know in the past that we have looked at this scripture, but the Lord put this word on my heart today. With all of the mandates that our government is setting before the nation today, we need to stop and remember that the Lords always gives us a choice. We can choose to serve the Lord or we can face the consequences. Think about that today! What a God we serve!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for the privilege and honor to serve you!
12/12/24
MATTHEW 24: 36-42
There are a lot of people in this world today who are setting dates for the rapture of the church. Today’s text reminds us that only God the Father knows that date. If someone tries to give you a formula or a direct date on when the Lord is coming to get His church, get away from them! Remember this, Jesus is coming- be ready! Share the Gospel with someone today!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to share the Gospel with someone today!
12/13/24
PSALM 119: 1-8
Today’s reading deals with a person that will follow the Lord. According to the text, if a person will follow the Lord daily, that person will be blessed (verse 1). Let’s do a little self-examining today. Am I living in a way that is undefiled before the Lord? Do I keep His testimonies daily (verse 2)? Do I try to keep the Lord’s words (verse 5)? Do I praise the Lord daily (verse 7)? Let’s add up our score today and make sure that we are living in a way that pleases God.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me daily to be the person that you would have me to be.
12/14/24
TITUS 2: 1-7
Behave! My mom used to tell me that every time I would leave the house as a young person. Mom used to tell me that my behavior would reflect on her. I did not understand that then, but I do now! The way that we behave as children of God, after we are saved, reflects on our Heavenly Father. In the verses in today’s scripture we had better be living in a way to bring honor to Almighty God!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, remind me daily that as a child of God I represent you!
12/15/24
PSALM 146: 1-5

I love verse 2 in today’s text. “While I live will I praise the Lord”.  According to today’s scripture in verse 5 a person is happy that has the Lord in their life! Why do Christians go around with long faces? Why do we sometimes look like the rest of the word that is not saved? Friends, if we walk with the Lord daily, our lives should show it! I have learned over the years that I will begin to act like the people that I hang out with! So, if I hang around with the Lord daily, let’s all act like Jesus!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, I just want to thank you today for letting me hang out with you every day!
12/16/24
PHILIPPIANS 4: 19
This verse is so powerful that it can stand alone! God will supply my every need if I trust Him. I don’t know about you, but I am so thankful that I don’t have to worry about some ship off the port of California to supply my needs. The Lord will take care of me if I trust Him!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for always meeting my needs, just like you promised!
12/17/24
JONAH 1: 1-4
From what the book of Jonah teaches us, it’s never a good thing to run from God. As a matter of fact, I believe that the Bible is teaching that it is not a good thing to disobey God! Notice verse 3 teaches that after God called Jonah (verse 2), Jonah disobeyed and headed in another direction. Verse 4 tells us that God understood he disobeyed and did something to get his attention. Don’t let it come to that in your life today. If God calls or leads us in a direction, we had better obey Him!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to obey you every day!
12/18/24
JOHN 5: 1-9
I love this scripture! Lets just stop today and remember what our Lord, our Savior can do! Verse 6 reminds us that the Lord knows what we are going through. The Bible here also teaches that the Lord is willing to help us a lot of times, the question is, am I willing to trust Him and take the help? “Wilt thou be made whole”? The Jesus in this text is the same Jesus that we are trusting today. He can still heal, He can still make a person whole. The question is, will I trust Him and ask him to?
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Help me Lord to lean on you!
 12/19/24
ISAIAH 7: 14
As we being Christmas week, the next few days we will be sharing scriptures that tell our Savior coming into this world for you and I. What a message in today’s text- a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son! This scripture was fulfilled in the New Testament. Here’a a word for today, God always keeps His word. When God says He will do something, He does it!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for always, always keeping your word!
12/20/24
LUKE 1: 26-35
OK, on this Christmas week we see that God does keep His word! Our scripture today is the New Testaments answer to the text that we studied yesterday. Today in Luke 1, we see Isaiah 7:24 coming to pass! There are many on this earth right now who are looking for the Savior to come for the first time. The Savior has already come for the first time! God promised He would come in the Old Testament and He fulfilled this promise in the New Testament! What a Savior!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for sending the best to save me!
12/21/24
ISAIAH 9: 6-7
Today’s text during Christmas week tells us more about the Savior that was about to come to this world when the Bible tells of the government shall be upon His shoulders (verse 6). It is talking about Jesus ruling this world for a thousand year reign at the end of the Battle of Armageddon. Notice the titles that our Savior carries. I love the last one in verse 6 “The Prince of Peace”. The Bible tells us in verse 7 that real peace will come to this world when Jesus rules. What a Savior!!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Father for giving us the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords to be our Savior!
12/22/24
MATTHEW 1: 18-25
Wow! Here we go again! The Old Testament told that it was coming-the New Testament proclaims it happened! Did you notice how our Savior received his name-that name that the Bible declares is above every name? Verse 21 tells us that God is that name! Don’t you just love the name of Jesus!! Notice verses 22 and 23 are taken from the Old Testament almost word for word. Friends, the Bible can be trusted as the word of God!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s just pray and thank God for send the best when He sent Jesus!
 12/23/24
GENESIS 3: 1-8
I know that we are only a couple of days from Christmas. Therefore, I thought we would go back to the very day in the Bible, in the world when you and I needed a Savior. In today’s text is the very reason that Jesus had to come and had to die on that cross! Man and woman disobeyed God, sin came between God and man. From that very moment, a Savior had to come and shed redeeming blood so that we could have a way back to God! Think of it, man sinned, God’s Son paid the price so that we could come back to Him!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s thank God for making a way through the blood back to Him today!
12/24/24
LUKE 2: 1-7
OK, with this being Christmas Eve, let’s share the first part of the Christmas scripture today! Notice Jesus was born in God’s timing and in the place of God’s choosing. A lot of people give the Inn Keeper a hard time because he had no room for the Savior to be born. But remember this, a lot of people still have no room for Jesus today!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Let’s thank God for the greatest gift of all- Jesus Christ!!
12/25/24
LUKE 2: 8-20
MERRY CHIRSTMAS!! Well, let’s finish the Christmas scripture today. Just imagine what was going through those shepherd’s minds when they saw all of those angels. Angels in the sky! Can you imagine what they thought as they saw the Christ child! This is what Christmas is all about!!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for coming for us and making a way back to God!
12/26/24
ISAIAH 1: 18
With the new year getting closer, let’s look at what the new year could hold for each of us. It could hold the turning away from any sin in our lives. Can you imagine how 2025 could be without any sin debt hanging over our heads? It can be that way you know if we will trust Jesus totally. Let’s start the new year with all of our since being put under the blood of Jesus. Wow! What a year could be ahead!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, use me in 2025 more than ever before to your honor and glory!
12/27/24
ACTS 3: 1-8
OK, as we get closer to the new year, let’s purpose in our hearts to be used of the Lord in someone’s life. Peter was a blessing to the man’s life in the text today. Notice it’s not about money or worldly treasures, it’s about allowing the Lord to use us. Let’s make a list of things we can do to be a blessing to others in the Lord during 2025!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, make me a blessing to someone in 2025.
12/28/24
GENESIS 2: 7
Sometimes it is a good idea for us to remember where we came from. The Bible here teaches we- mankind-comes from dust! The Bible says “of the dust of the ground”. Some people act or live as if they are worth more than others, when the truth is we all come from dirt! And notice where our first breath came from. God gave us our first breath! That is awesome! So, as we are about to begin this new year, let’s remember where we come from!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Thank you Lord for giving me the breath of life!
12/29/24
HEBREWS 11: 1-6
As we prepare to go into the new year, let’s remember that the Lord will bless our faith in Him! This whole chapter, called the faith chapter in the Bible, gives us examples of those who have faith in the Lord! But remember verse 6. But without faith it is impossible to please God! We must believe God to be blessed of God! Let’s start off 2025 believing God for a good year IN the Lord!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to build my faith and trust in you this year!
12/30/24
ISAIAH 61: 1-2
Let’s do this for 2025- let’s declare 2025 “the acceptable year of the Lord”. Let’s purpose in our hearts to tell more people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ than ever before! Let’s also do what the last line in verse 2 says “to comfort all that mourn”. The best news to give one that mourns is that Jesus Christ can and will comfort if we trust Him!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY: Lord, help me to share this message in 2025.
12/31/24
MATTHEW 7: 7-8
On the last day of 2024, let’s practice this scripture today. If I have a need, don’t complain, bellyache or get bitter about it! Ask the Lord for help, seek God! Let’s start the new year in church, in prayer, and in trust of the Lord!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY:  Lord, thank you for all that you have done for me in 2024 and help me to trust you completely in 2025.
